Bansko is located 160 kilometers from Sofia at the foot of the Pirin mountain. Vihren (2914m) is the highest peak of Pirin, an Alpin summit mountain. Bansko is 925m above the sea, while the ski area lies at an altitude of 2000-2600m.
Bansko ski resort is the most modern ski resort in Bulgaria. In recent years multimillions of dollars have been invested in brand-new ski resorts. Numerous high-end luxury hotels and facilities in the area have been constructed.
The 8-person gondola lift from Bansko takes guests over a distance of 6km via a middle station up to the winter sports resort (Bunderishka Polyana).
The winter sports area is set between 990 and 2530 m. Bansko has 75km of slopes available for skiing and snowboarding, with 14 ski lifts transporting guests.
The ski area has slopes of all difficulty levels. Most slopes are easy and intermediate, but advanced skiers can challenge their skills at the "Tomba" black World Cup slope and “Tomba’s Sleeve".

Generally, ski season lasts from early December to mid-April, and opening times are 08:30-16:30.
